Recruitment and Selection

The Bulletin Schedules have been replaced for all posts, with vacancies going live within 5 working days of receipt by HR.  All vacancy authorisation forms must now be signed off by Head of Service.

In order for the 5 day service level agreement to be achieved, and in line with the council's agreed Recruitment and Selection Procedure, all vacancies received by HR must include the following:

  • vacancy authorisation form signed by Head of Service
  • job advert
  • job outline and person specification
  • any other relevant information

Please note if received without the correct paperwork requests will be rejected and you will need to resend the full documentation once corrected.

Additional Guidance

Effective from 30 September 2022, the adjusted Right to Work checks introduced by the Home Office during the pandemic will cease.  Thereafter, at the point of recruiting any new staff to the Council, recruiting Managers will be required to revert to manual checking of documents and verifying them in person with the successful candidate as was done previously. Guidance is available below.

Where interviews are held by video conferencing, this will require the successful candidate to attend the workplace with the acceptable documentation, as quickly as possible after they have been offered the post.  These verification documents are required to be returned to the recruitment team with the application pack.  Failure to return the copied verified documents will result in delaying the appointment process
