Youth Trainee

To qualify as a youth trainee for Council Tax purposes they must be:

• Under 25 years of age, and
• taking a relevant course under an individual training plan.

How to apply:

If you think you may be entitled to a discount you will need to ask the trainee's employer to complete the Youth Trainee Employer Form (PDF, 46 KB)(opens new window).

Once completed, you can use our online Council Tax Youth Trainee Status Form to apply. You must upload the completed Youth Trainee Employer Form as part of your application.

You can still submit your form without this information however it may delay your application. Discount cannot be awarded unless you provide the required supporting evidence.
