Parking

Information on parking in West Lothian including the Blue Badge Scheme, parking for disabled people and dropped kerb requests.

The Blue Badge Scheme provides a national arrangement across the UK and a partnership arrangement in other European Union member states. The scheme is designed to help severely disabled people live independent lives by knowing that when they reach their destination, either as a passenger or driver, that they will be able to park near to the venue and therefore have easier access to the services they want to use.
West Lothian Council recognises that people with disabilities often have difficulty in carrying out their everyday activities because they cannot find convenient parking. The council has introduced a number of measures to help you park nearer your home and public places.
On-street parking is available in West Lothian either in designated parking places or in areas where parking is not controlled. Within the main town centres, parking is controlled and stays are limited.
The police are responsible for enforcing legislation relating to parking across driveways and entrances.
