Unoccupied but Furnished Property Discount
If the property is unoccupied but furnished a Council Tax discount may be awarded.
This discount is awarded for a maximum period of 12 months from the date the property was last occupied.
The amount of discount awarded will be 50% for the first month the property is unoccupied but furnished followed by 10% for a maximum period of a further 11 months.
You will be charged for the full water and waste charges during this period.

Important: If the property is still unoccupied for a continuous period of more than 12 months it will be classed as a long term unoccupied property and will be charged at twice the full charge for the band the property is in. There are long term unoccupied property discounts available in specific circumstances.
