Although its scale of operation has declined over the years, the quarry still produces silica sand which is used for root-zone and topdressing for sports fields and golf courses. Planning permission has been granted to extend the quarry by 12 hectares to the west of its current operations. Part of the existing quarry will be retained, and discussions have taken place about it being made available for conservation when the quarry ceases production. The faces show excellent examples of large river channel features in sandstone lying above siltstone and mudstone.

Levenseat Quarry is located south of Fauldhouse. The site is not open to the public as it is an operating quarry. Nearby geodiversity sites are Levenseat quarries and mines (24) and Longridge Moss (49).
