The Wellbeing Team offer a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching, mental health support and personal development to empower individuals in reaching their goals and potential.
The service utilises a person-centred approach providing clients with tools, techniques, therapies and support to empower and allow positive life changes to happen. We work in partnership with services within West Lothian Council as well as various health care providers, charities and partner organisations to ensure service users receive the most appropriate support throughout their personal transformation.
One to One service
Experienced advisers will provide one to one coaching and assistance to encourage positive personal development and support tailored to individual's needs.
The Wellbeing Team offer support with identifying long and short-term life goals and help in achieving them. The service is client led and therefore all goals are based upon clients wants and needs.
The advisers will use various techniques to support change and assist in goal setting such as:
Talking therapy involves working in a one to one setting with an adviser. The adviser will actively listen to individuals in a caring and non-judgemental manner. This method utilises various communication skills to encourage open conversations on sensitive matters allowing issues to be explored in a safe and supportive environment.
The exploration of topics, issues and barriers often helps in identifying goals and ways of overcoming issues that stand currently stand in the way of reaching those goals.
Sometimes it is difficult to identify our goals, barriers and pathway to get to where we would like to be.
A life coach is a professional that will guide and support individuals to maximise their potential and get the most out of their life.
An accredited Life Coach uses various tools and techniques and works along side an individual to encourage self-awareness, problem solving and goal setting.
This is a coaching technique which is designed to re-programme the sub conscious mind.
It encourages the individual to change the way they think, feel and act in order to release fears and unhelpful thoughts. Through releasing fears and unhelpful thoughts individuals are able to move forward and progress to gaining positive wellbeing which will allow them to start working towards reaching their goals.
The individual will work alongside a professional adviser to assess their current physical and emotional wellbeing. This will help to demonstrate areas that are already working well and areas that need to be improved upon.
After the initial assessment, an agreed action plan of positive goals will be created by the adviser. The action plan will recommend methods identified by the advisers to help achieve each goal and they will support the individual to achieving their goals
Group Work
The Wellbeing Team also offer online group work throughout the year in the form of workshops and short term courses.
The workshops provide a taster of the services offered via our one to one service and allow group interaction and questions.
The courses are a focused approach with set outcomes and tasks designed to encourage individuals to make decisions about their future and put the steps in place to reach their goals.
In order to achieve the most from the group work participants are encouraged to engage in the group interactions.
All courses are moderated and led by our advisers.
For more information on the group work offered please see course details below.

It considers the impact of fitness, nutrition, routine and sleep on wellbeing and also provides practical techniques such as mindfulness, meditation and journaling as methods of dealing with stress, anxiety and unhelpful thoughts. It increases self-awareness and provides positive practices to enhance emotional and physical wellbeing.
