Information on same sex marriages
The Scottish Government has announced that the Law changed on 16 December 2014 for same sex marriages to take place in Scotland. This means that same sex couples can submit their intention to marry from the 16 December 2014 and the first ceremonies can take place from 31 December 2014.
Couples who have existing Civil Partnerships and wish to change this to a Marriage either through an administrative route or through another ceremony are advised to contact the Registrar on 01506 281897 or 282916.
