Full-time employees covered by the SJC and Craft Terms and Conditions are entitled to 187.2 hours (26 days) annual leave, rising to 223.2 (31 days) on completion of 5 years' service (on 1 January). Annual leave for part time employees and those who work non-standard working patterns must be calculated and taken in hours. Examples of non-standard working patterns would include

Employees working on a sessional or term time contract will receive a pro-rata payment for annual leave and public holidays within their monthly salary.

Non-Teaching Term Time Staff
The leave year runs from 1 January - 31 December.
From 1 January 2025, non-teaching term time staff will accrue "in-term leave" that can be taken during their normal term time working weeks. The amount of in-term leave accrued will depend on an employees' contractual hours, working weeks and whether they have less or more than 5 years continuous service.
An employees line manager will confirm the employee's in-term leave accrual at the start of each year or where any changes occur that impacts on leave. Time off is in line with other leave requests in that it requires line manager approval before being taken.
