Developments, Planning Permissions and Outdoor Access
The following Guidance Note has been prepared to assist Planning Applicants who need to consider access in relation to any proposed development which may have an impact on the paths across or near to the development site.
National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4, 2023) requires planning authorities to consider access issues and to protect core and other important routes and access rights when preparing development plans and making decisions on planning applications and new development should incorporate new and enhanced access opportunities, linked to wider access networks.
The following Guidance Note has been prepared to offer assistance to planning applicants to assist in addressing access issues in advance of making any planning application.
