West Calder Community Hub - Community Events Spaces - £25,000

West Calder Community Hub serves as a central hub for various community activities and services, providing a space for local residents to engage in a wide range of activities, from sports and fitness to social gatherings and educational programs. It plays a vital role in promoting community well-being and connectivity in the area.

Work has recently been undertaken at West Calder Community Hub to make improvements to the lounge café and shop, which has seen a positive response and increased usage of the space.  However, the Main Hall and Room 2 of the building are currently under used.  Therefore, West Calder Community Hub would like to carry out improvement works to the spaces.

West Calder Community Hub seeks £25,000 to carry out further improvements. This includes improving Room 2 of the Hub by replacing the flooring, redecorating the space, installing a ceiling mount projector, a new worktop and sink, and increasing the number of power sockets in the room. The Hub also seeks to improve the Main Hall facility by installing improved ambient lighting for parties, making it easier to decorate with new hanging points and wall drapes and purchasing solid banqueting chairs and tables for events. Finally, the Hub will implement energy efficiency measures to reduce waste heat and improve heating control.
