Livingston Community Shed - Expansion of Mosswood Community Workshop and Garden Services - £8,000
Livingston Community Shed tackle social isolation and improve mental health for adults, with a particular focus on older people suffering bereavement by providing a fully operational woodworking workshop in the Mosswood area of Knightsridge, Livingston.
The Community Shed's current workshop does not have any mains electricity or water and currently relies on a small petrol generator. The Community Shed's growth of membership has also resulted in not having enough space to accommodate all members in the current facility.
Therefore, Livingston Community Shed are seeking £8000 to be able to install mains electricity at the current workshop to permit longer opening hours and the installation of more electrically powered machinery which has already been donated to the shed. In addition to this the funding will allow the Community Shed to purchase an additional timber workshop to be able to increase participation of its members at the shed.
