Local Development Plan Scheme (DPS)
The Development Plan Scheme (DPS) is published (at least) annually and sets out the council's intended programme for preparing the next Local Development Plan (LDP).
The DPS sets out the programme for preparing and reviewing the Local Development Plan and also explains what is involved at each of the key stages. It creates an awareness of the LDP preparation process and how and when people can engage with the process.
Preparation of Development Plan Scheme No.17
We are currently preparing the next Development Plan Scheme. As part of this process we are seeking feedback on the current DPS and engagement that has been carried out in the early stages of preparing LDP 2. We have prepared a short survey for this. Please send any completed survey form to wlldp@westlothian.gov.uk by Friday 7th February.
Current Development Plan Scheme
The Development Plan Scheme is reviewed at least annually and the most recent scheme is Development Plan Scheme No.16 which was published in March 2024 and has also been submitted to Scottish Ministers for information. It sets out how the council intends to progress preparation of a new local development plan (LDP 2) over the coming years.
