Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement (DPS)

The Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement (DPS) is updated and published (at least) once a year.

The DPS explains what a Development Plan is, outlines the council's intended programme for preparing and consulting on the next Local Development Plan (LDP2) and includes a Participation Statement - a guide on how  and when the public can engage with the process.

Development Plan Scheme 2025

The proposed timetable for producing a new LDP was last agreed by the council in March 2025,  Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement (DPS 2025).

Please note that the consultation period is now closed and that representations received after 19 February 2026 will not be processed.

When approved, the new Development Plan Scheme 2026 will be posted here.
