Service and Performance

Planning Services' performance information.

Planning, Economic Development and Regeneration (PEDR) Service Improvement Plan

The PEDR Service Improvement Plan fulfils a number of planning and improvement requirements and, importantly, it sets out how the service will use its resources to deliver positive outcomes for West Lothian. Although titled 2023/24 in link below it covers the 3 year period 2023/2026 and is the result of a detailed planning process to make sure that council services are well planned and managed.

National Planning Improvement Framework (NPIF)

The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 obliges planning authorities to prepare a report on their performance every year which is submitted to Ministers and published.

The Improvement Service National Planning Improvement Champion monitors the performance of planning authorities and provides advice to them - and others who have a role in the system - on what steps might be taken to improve their performance.

Service Standards

Service standards define what a customer can expect and remind employees of their obligations. The council strives to deliver a range of services that are high quality, accessible and that meets the needs of our customers.
