Adaptations to a Property for People with a Disability
The Council could provide assistance to homeowners that require adaptations to their property to meet the needs of a member of their household with a disability. The purpose of the adaptations is to improve their quality of life at home. If you would like more information about what help is available, please contact 01506 280000.
Mortgage to Rent
If you own your home and are in danger of having it repossessed then you could consider the Mortgage to Rent Scheme (MTR). Under the MTR fund, your home will be bought by a housing association or local authority and you will continue to live there as a tenant, paying rent. For more information on this, please see West Lothian Council's report (PDF, 168 KB)(opens new window), MTR example (PDF, 11 KB)(opens new window) and Scottish Government MTR page (opens new window).
