Learn with Levenseat
Levenseat Resource Management site provide a wide range of recycling and waste management solutions. Situated just South of Fauldhouse by Forth the site is perfectly positioned to help West Lothian Council manage many of our waste streams. Currently our brown and grey bin material is sorted/recycled/disposed of at Levenseat alongside bulky waste and waste from our local Community Recycling Centres.
Leavenseat have created a bespoke learning package specifically for use by schools in West Lothian to aid teachers in the Learning for Sustainability topics relating to Waste Management, Reduction, Reuse and Recycling and how this can be incorporated into the classroom and community. The resources embrace the values, purpose and principles set out by Curriculum for Excellence and provide a variety of relevant and engaging resources and activities for ages 3-18.

Lending Kits & Downloadable Resources
We have a variety of educational videos and downloadable resources on our Recycling Downloads and Recycling Activities pages which you are welcome use to support learning objectives. This includes information on which bin to use for different waste materials, what happens to the material after it is collected at the kerbside and why it is important that we reduce our waste consumption and reuse as much as we can before it is recycled.
There are also a variety of lending kits which you are welcome to borrow and all provide direct links to Curriculm for Excellence. Each kit has fun and relevant activities to help make learning about waste management fun and encourage behaviour change in our everyday lives. You can find more information about the kits on our Lending Kits.
School Visits
The Waste Education Team are also available to visit your school where we can help support use of our lending kits or bring along some reduce/recycling crafts, games and activities, some which include making compostable newspaper plant pots and sorting games using litter pickers. We can also offer presentations at assemblies or support your school in improving how you manage your waste and encourage more engagement in recycling.
You can book a visit by completing our Waste Education Resources Form and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
