West Lothian Council is taking a joined-up approach to help those who are experiencing financial hardship and who have more than one debt due to the council.
Individuals can find themselves in difficulty paying:
- Rent
- Council Tax
- Service Accounts
- Housing Benefit Overpayments
The aim is to deliver a more efficient joined-up approach to customers' debt, helping to avoid the additional costs and stress around recovery action. The council can offer specialist money and benefit advice and will work with individuals to identify all their debts and to agree a sustainable agreement which takes account of their financial circumstances.
