Proposal

West Lothian Council's Education Executive at its meeting on 07 May 2024 authorised Education Services to commence statutory consultation on the proposal to alter the non-denominational primary school catchment areas of:

Armadale Primary School
Eastertoun Primary School
Southdale Primary School
Blackridge Primary School
Windyknowe Primary School
Westfield Primary School
Polkemmet Primary School

Statutory Consultation

In terms of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act), any proposed changes to a school estate in this case creation of a new education establishment, review of admission arrangements arising from school catchment area variations and closure of a school requires Statutory Public Consultation.

The Consultation involves all key stakeholders and statutory consultees as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Act, this includes parents/carers/children and staff of Armadale PS, Eastertoun PS, Southdale PS, Blackridge PS, Windyknowe PS, Westfield PS and Polkemmet PS.

Consultation Period

The consultation period was from Monday 13 May 2024 until Friday 28 June 2024. This timescale adheres to the statutory consultation period for such circumstances which is a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and include at least 30 school days. A public meeting to discuss the consultation document will was held at:
