What happens to my application if requesting a place in 2024/2025?
2024/2025 has started, therefore all applications for all Primary or Secondary school places if submitted to pupil placement are sent onto the school detailed as 1st choice on the form for the Head teacher to consider and issue a decision.
Please contact that school directly for any update on your application, the Head Teacher has 2 months to issue a decision, however most applications will be decided much more quickly.
2025/2026 - school session runs from the 13 August 2025 - 26 June 2026
The process to apply for P1 or S1 places for August 2025 has not started yet.
Applications will be accepted from 14 October 2024, any application submitted before this date will be disregarded.

What is the process for applications for P2-P7 or S2-S6 to start in August 2025?
If you wish to apply for a place in stages P2 - P7 or S2 - S6 from August 2025, please do not complete an application until the start of June 2025, as schools are unable to hold a place for longer than 2 weeks, however we do not count school holidays in the 2 weeks, therefore a place allocated 2 weeks before the summer holidays can be held until the 1st day of term in August 2025.
