P1 and S1 Placement Decisions - August 2027
2027/2028 - school session runs from the 16 August 2027 - 30 June 2028
All applications received by the 31 March 2027 - have been issued a decision.
All applications received after the 31 March 2027 will be considered. We endeavour to issue decisions promptly for these, however decisions must be issued within 2 months from the date the form was submitted.

What is the process for applications for P2-P7 or S2-S6 to start in August 2027?
If you wish to apply for a place in stages P2 - P7 or S2 - S6 from August 2027, please do not complete an application until the start of June 2027, as schools are unable to hold a place for longer than 2 weeks, however we do not count school holidays in the 2 weeks, therefore a place allocated 2 weeks before the summer holidays can be held until the 1st day of term in August 2027.
2026/2027 - school session runs from the 12 August 2026 - 30 June 2027
What happens to my application if requesting a place in 2026/2027?
The School Placement Panel consider P1 & S1 applications submitted from the process opening (for the August Intake) up to the start of September (after the August intake being applied for), then they pass any applications for these stages to the Head Teacher to consider.
The Head Teacher of the school marked as 1st choice on the application will consider the applications:
for P1 and S1 from September as handed over to them from Pupil Placement. If the application is received over a term time holiday period the school will consider the application on their return.
for all other stages the whole year through. If the application is received over a holiday period the school will consider the application on their return.
Please contact that school directly for any update on your application, the Head Teacher has 2 months to issue a decision, however most applications will be decided much more quickly.
