A number of public buildings will open their doors to the public later this month as part of a series of events to mark Livingston's 60th anniversary

The free guided tours and open-doors opportunities will provide behind-the-scenes access and insight into the people, places, organisations, activities and operations which make the new town tick.

Livingston Secondary School Building Tours

Tuesday 15 to Wednesday 16 November, 5 - 6pm Booking essential

Take a tour of one of three schools led by the Head teacher.

West Lothian Civic Centre Building Tour

Saturday 19 November, 10 -11am Booking essential

Join us for a special tour of West Lothian Civic Centre and chance to see the council chambers, court rooms and the main working body of the administration centre.

North Livingston Partnership Centre

Saturday 19 November, 11am - 3pm Drop in, no booking required

A fun day for all the family!  Drop in and enjoy a range of activities, itinerary below:

  • 11am - 3pm  - Display of historical photos from the Livingston archives
  • 11am - 1pm - Boardmaker demo with Janice McDaid (Libraries)
  • 11:15am, 12:30 and 1:45pm - 'Livingston at 60' FILM SHOW
  • 11:30am -  Tour of the building with Jorden Smith
  • 1pm - Bookbug session with Sheena Campion (Libraries).  Bookbug himself will also be in attendance!
  • 1.30pm - Tour of the building with Jorden Smith

The buildings cafĂ© will be open during the day and staff from the Supported Employment Service and MacMillan will also be in attendance. 


Wee Museum of Memory

Friday 9 and Saturday 10 December, 10am-4pm.

Drop in to the Wee Museum of Memory andsee our Livingston 60th exhibition and watch some historic footage of Livingston on our vintage style TV. We will also hold a Livingston 60 themed reminiscence session at 2pm on both the Friday and Saturday, join us for a wee blether about memories of Livingston over the years. Snacks and refreshments will be served.  Spaces for these sessions are limited, please book in advance.
