Proposal to Relocate Cedarbank School

West Lothian Council Education Executive agreed the proposal on 21 January 2020.

Proposal

West Lothian Council agreed, on 23 April 2019, to undertake formal consultation on the proposal to relocate Cedarbank School, Livingston.

Statutory Consultation

In terms of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act), any proposed changes to a school estate in this case relocation of an education establishment, requires Statutory Public Consultation.

The Consultation involves the parents/carers/children and staff of Cedarbank School, as well as all other key stakeholders associated with the school and statutory consultees as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Act. 

West Lothian Council has a statutory obligation to adopt a whole authority approach when consulting on any proposal to amend the Additional Support Needs School Estate. To this regard, all mainstream education establishments in West Lothian will be offered information on the proposed relocation of Cedarbank School.

Consultation Period

The Consultation period has now closed.

This timescale adhered to the statutory consultation period for such circumstances which is a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and include at least 30 school days.
