Public Transport Service Updates
Information on changes and disruptions on local bus routes.
Bus service changes are announced
Following a review of public transport in West Lothian, the decision was taken to removed duplication of services. This will result in changes to bus services which will take effect from Sunday 10 April. For further information regarding these decisions see bus service news release. The changes are detailed below.
Town services will operate on an hourly basis from 09:15 to 17:15 weekdays and 09:15 to 15:15 on Saturdays.
Armadale and Whitburn Town Services
The Armadale and Whitburn town services were revised to operate as a single service, which will now provide a new link to Armadale railway station from Whitburn.
Bathgate Town Services
The two Bathgate town services were revised and will operate as a single service.
Linlithgow Town Service
The route of the Linlithgow town service has been revised to include the Friar's Way and Riccarton Drive areas.
Livingston South Town Service
Other service changes
Bathgate to Livingston via Linlithgow
A new service 31 will operate hourly between approximately 06.30 and 22.00, Monday to Saturday and two-hourly between approximately 08.30 and 18.00 on Sundays. It will replace services 23/31/32/33/34 with the exception of sections of route to South Queensferry and Broxburn.
Livingston to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Services 40/X40, services will not change between Monday to Friday, however early morning services on Saturday and Sunday will run two-hourly until 09.25.
Livingston to the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh
The current bookable Taxibus Service will be replaced by a conventional bus service.
|Service no 3: Withdrawn||Alternative E&M Horsburgh will continue to operate service 3 commercially, however service will have slight timetable changes, please check. Other services available include 27, 28, 800 & 801, though journeys to Kirkton campus require a change at Livingston Centre onto service 701.|

|Alternative services exist for most users on services 21, 22, 27,and 28 though some journeys may be longer or require a change of bus.|

New service 31 provides replacement journeys Bathgate - Linlithgow - Philpstoun Inclusive. Through journeys to South Queensferry will require change at Winchburgh or Newbridge.
|Service no 24: Withdrawn||Alternative internal West Lothian journeys can all be made using services 22, 27 and 28 with the exception of Mid Calder to Pumpherston direct, which now requires 2 bus journeys. Journeys to Balerno/Juniper Green would require a change of bus in Edinburgh.|

New service 31 will operate Livingston to Bathgate via Linlithgow hourly, Monday to Saturday and 2-hourly on Sundays.For connection to and from Broxburn, a change is required at Uphall.

New service 31 replaces this, operating Livingston to Bathgate via Linlithgow 2-hourly on Sundays.

New service 31 operating Livingston to Bathgate via Linlithgow hourly, Monday - Saturday and 2-hourly on Sundays. For connection to/from Broxburn, a change is required in Uphall.
|Service no 36: Withdrawn||Alternative - E&M Horsburgh will continue to operate an hourly 36 service, Monday - Saturday between 7am and 6pm, there are slight timetable changes, please check. All users have alternatives available to them on services 21, 22, 701, 800 & 801, with some requiring a change in Livingston.|
|Service no 41: Withdrawn||Alternative - users can use services 21 & 801, with the exception of those travelling to and from Kirkton Campus which will not be served on Sundays.|
|Service no 50: Revised||Revised service will now start at 19.00. Alternative Journeys between Bathgate & Blackridge can still be made on commercial service 800 & 801 until 19.00.|
|Service no 56: Withdrawn|
Alternative - provision of bus stops and improved footpaths near Oakbank will allow service X40 to provide hourly service alternative. Other journeys can be used on service 27/28.

People who are unable to use conventional public transport services may be eligible for other travel such as HCL's Dial-a-Bus (tel. 01506 633 336) and Dial-a-Ride (tel. 01506 633 953) services.
Scottish Ambulance Service (tel. 0300 123 1236) provides care for patients who need support to reach their healthcare appointments due to their medical and mobility needs.
