Decriminalised Parking Enforcement Consultation

West Lothian Council is consulting on proposals to introduce Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) across the West Lothian area.

West Lothian Council is consulting on proposals to introduce Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) across the West Lothian area.

DPE could potentially give the council responsibility for parking enforcement on public roads and car parks helping to improve road safety, keep traffic moving, and support fair and consistent parking controls in communities.

The consultation is open from Monday 11 May and will close on Friday 3 July 2026.

We want to hear from as many people that live and work in our towns and villages and also visitors to the West Lothian area that use our roads and our existing parking facilities. Your views will help us to shape how parking enforcement could work in West Lothian in the future.

Please take a few minutes to share your views and help inform the council's future car parking enforcement decisions.
