Civic visit for foodbank volunteers
Provost Cathy Muldoon recently took part in an event to celebrate the amazing contribution of volunteers at West Lothian Foodbank.
The Provost, was invited to Broxburn Parish Church to help present individual volunteers with a certificate to recognise their outstanding service and the role they play in supporting the work of West Lothian Foodbank in the local area which provides vital support to those in need.
Mr Jim Hewie, Ms Senga Brown, Ms Trudy MacDonald, Ms Janis Linton, and Ms Heather Freeland were among those who were recognised on the day for over ten years of service with West Lothian Foodbank.
Provost Cathy Muldoon said: " I was delighted to have been asked to come along by West Lothian Foodbank to help recognise the contributions of some of their incredible volunteers. It was a pleasure to meet with them and I hope they realise how important they are in supporting those in need in West Lothian."
Deputy Manager at West Lothian Foodbank, Charlie Morris said: " "Volunteers are the lifeblood of West Lothian Foodbank, enabling us to support over 6,300 local people in crisis in 2025 with food parcels. We are grateful for all the support and dedication these volunteers give to people experiencing severe food poverty."
