Provost Festive Message 2025
It's been a privilege to serve West Lothian as Provost during 2025.
The best part of this role is the chance to get out and meet some of the many fantastic local residents and groups.
Their contributions are what makes West Lothian such a wonderful place to live and work, and I'd like to sincerely thank them all for playing their part.
I was delighted to be able to recognise some of those who make West Lothian great at our first ever Provost's Award this year.
It was a huge pleasure to name Scout Leaders Martin and Alsuin Ormiston from Livingston as our first overall Provost's Award winners earlier this year, and to meet them along with all the other category winners.
I'm looking forward to the 2026 awards next year, to highlight even more of the superb work that takes place all over West Lothian every day by dedicated individuals and groups.
As Provost, it's a real honour to be able to go and visit our older residents who are enjoying special anniversaries, such as 100th birthdays or wedding anniversaries.
These are normally joyful occasions shared with family and friends, but it's important to take a minute to consider those who don't have loved ones around.
Older people are more likely to experience loneliness at Christmas, so please spare some time for elderly neighbours or relatives, who don't have close family nearby over the festive season if you are able.
I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
