West Lothian's business people at heart of community
The local business people who contribute the most to West Lothian's communities are being celebrated as part of this year's Scotland Loves Local Week, which starts from Saturday 23 August 2025.
The theme for this year's national campaign, which aims to encourage people to think local when they shop, is People Make Places, celebrating the important role played by business people at the heart of our communities.
West Lothian is fortunate to have a number of community-minded business people in communities across the area, making a positive difference to the towns and villages they serve.
If you know a local business person who gives back to their local community over and above their job, please leave a comment below, tagging in their business if possible, and share with your fellow residents some of the good work they do.
Depute Leader of West Lothian Council Susan Manion said: "Scotland Loves Local Week 2025 runs from Saturday 23 August, and I would encourage local residents to consider what they can do to support local business at this time.
"A vibrant West Lothian economy with successful local businesses helps everyone, creating more jobs and opportunities. Evidence also shows that any money spent with a local business is more likely to stay in the local economy, ensuring that our towns and villages remain great places to live, work and do business.
"West Lothian has many business people who play an important role in their local community, making the extra effort to ensure their local areas thrives.
"Huge thanks to them all for all their hard work for the benefit of the community on top of their business role. Please join us in celebrating them by leaving a comment at Scotland Loves Local Facebook post (opens new window), tagging in their business where possible."
