'Invy's Got Talent'
Pupils at Inveralmond Community High School celebrated the end of their first term of the school year by showcasing their talents in the 'Invy's Got Talent' final.
Over a dozen acts took part on Thursday 10 October, competing in two rounds of the competition. The worthy winners were the guitar and vocals duo Lola and Euan (both S3) with a crowd pleasing rendition of the Oasis Anthem 'Don't Look Back in Anger'. The most entertaining prize went to Jaxson (S3) who performed vocals and guitar.
The judging panel on the evening were Headteacher Mr Shankland, Chair of the Parent Council Jane Naysmith, and Chair of the Ladywell Community Council Mary Benson. The panel were blown away by the talent displayed and had a difficult decision in selecting the winners.
The competition was organised by the Parent Council in conjunction with school staff and it is hoped the event can become a fixture in the school calendar. Over £300 was also raised for Parent Council Funds on the evening. These funds are to be redistributed to school projects which the parent council would like to support.
Inveralmond Community High School Headteacher, Hamish Shankland said: " Thank you to our Parent Council for organising this fantastic event. It was a true celebration of our school community and hopefully something we can run again. We clearly have some really talented individuals at Inveralmond and who knows, maybe some stars of the future. Well done to all of our pupils and staff who took part."
