West Lothian Council's Education Executive at its meeting on 3 September 2024 authorised West Lothian Council's Education Services to commence statutory consultation on the proposal to close Fauldhouse Nursery Class.

Consultation Period

The consultation period was from Monday 9 September 2024 until Friday 1 November 2024.  This timescale adheres to the statutory consultation period for such circumstances which is a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and include at least 30 school days. A public meeting to discuss the consultation document was held at:

  • St John the Baptist Primary School, Fauldhouse  |  Monday 23 September 2024  |  Time: 7:30-8:30pm

Decision

Representations to Scottish Ministers

When an authority takes a decision to approve a school closure proposal, section 15(2) and (2A) requires it to notify Scottish Ministers, within 6 days of making the decision, and place a notice on its website of this fact and of the opportunity to make representations to the Scottish Ministers.

Representations can be made by emailing:  schoolclosure@gov.scot (opens new window)  or by post to The Scottish Government, School Infrastructure Unit, 2A (South), Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ.

The deadline for making representations is Monday 24 March 2025.
