Today marks 80 years since D-Day. 80 years since the largest seaborne invasion in history. 80 years since the heroic efforts of those who landed on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from Nazi tyranny. Today we say thank you

Tonight, a special ceremony will take place at Beecraigs Country Park from 9.00pm to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Members of the public are welcome to attend the event, as West Lothian joins a series of major commemorations and events across the UK and in France to honour the brave soldiers who risked their lives for freedom and peace. A beacon will be lit and is located behind the visitor centre and beside the Hillhouse Car Park.
