Inveralmond gets creative

A Livingston secondary school has been showcasing the amazing talents of its pupils.

Inveralmond Community High School in Ladywell, Livingston, hosted an evening of music, dance, drama and art recently.

Forty students performed in a wide variety of ways, showcasing a vibrant creative community within the school.

The event also served as the final of the school's Young Musician of the Year competition, which saw Eleni Sneddon lift the trophy for her beautiful rendition of Stephen Sondheim's 'Send in the Clowns'.

Hosted by Libby Paxton (S5) and Sofia Artale (S6), who also performed, the night of wonderful entertainment band was kick off by the band, Ultraviolet.

This was followed by guitar ensembles, a percussion group, a piping ensemble, a twelve-strong sketch comedy group and three dance performances.

Inveralmond's acting Headteacher Hamish Shankland said: "It was an excellent evening of entertainment, thanks to everyone who came out in numbers to support their friends and family members.

"We have some amazingly talented pupils at Inveralmond, and they proved this with the quality of the performances on show on the night."
