Local residents and groups urged to complete Hilltop car park survey
Local stakeholders are being encouraged to share their views on opening hours for the Hilltop public Car park in the Bathgate Hills.
Sometimes known as Gordon's View, the car park is the road across the Bathgate Hills between Ballencreiff Toll in Bathgate and Preston Road in Linlithgow, which includes access to sites of interest such as the Korean War Memorial, Cairnpapple and Beecraigs Country Park.
The popular scenic viewpoint has experienced issued with anti-social behavior, including fly tipping, litter and vandalism.
New opening hours of 7am and 7pm during the winter (approximately November to March inclusive) and 7am and 9pm in the summer (approximately April to October inclusive) are being proposed to reduce opportunities for anti-social behavior.
Local groups, neighbours and residents near the car park have been sent a survey to gauge opinions on the above proposal to manage opening times, and are encouraged to respond before the deadline of Thursday, 29 February 2024.
The responses to the survey will be reported to a future meeting of the Bathgate Local Area Committee.
