Offers sought for Whitburn properties
West Lothian Council is set to invite commercial and community offers for two adjacent empty properties in Whitburn town centre.
Council Executive is being asked to back proposals to declare 207 and 209 West Main Street in Whitburn surplus to requirements.
This would allow the vacant commercial properties to be openly marketed for lease, sale or community interest.
The former Tenant Resource Centre at 207 West Main Street was previously a meeting hub, but is no longer required due to online meetings and other venues being used. The next-door property at 209 West Main Street has been vacant for some time.
The council aims to dispose of any properties not required for service delivery, as part of an efficient and effective approach to property management.
This helps vacant properties return to working use again, and prevents them from becoming derelict and a burden on limited council resources in challenging financial times.
