Funding boost for local business
Local company Capital Power Clean Ltd. has received support from West Lothian Council's Economic Development Service to access £10,000 of funding from the Digital Development Grant to support their growth.
The Digital Development Grant is part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is aimed at enhancing the digital capabilities of Scottish businesses. West Lothian Council's Economic Development Service administers the funding locally.
Established in 2007 by Tom Reynolds, Capital Power Clean Ltd. is a cleaning supplies business located within Deans Industrial Estate in Livingston.
Capital Power Clean Ltd. applied for Digital Development Grant funding in order to invest in a new software system. The company also received £5,000 from the Low Carbon Grant to help purchase a new electric forklift. This has resulted in increased efficiency and productivity for the business.
Capital Power Clean Ltd. supplies, services, and maintains commercial cleaning equipment, including: pressure washers, scrubber dryers, vacuums, sweepers, brush wash/drive through vehicle wash, high reach gutter cleaning/vacuuming equipment, pure water window cleaning systems (predominantly van mounted) and bespoke response vehicles (fitted with a wide range of cleaning equipment to tackle a vast range of cleaning emergencies), in addition to consumable cleaning items such as vehicle cleaning detergents, toilet rolls, toilet cleaners, microfibres cloths etc. The business has contracts with local authorities such as Fife Council, East Ayrshire Council, Perth and Kinross Council, West Lothian Council and other organisations including DHL International (UK) Ltd, Bannatynes Fitness Centres, G4S Facilities Management, and G4S Cash Solutions. A requirement of achieving this accolade was a dedicated space to build an I-Team Embassy office and training centre, which is currently in the design and planning phase.
The massive increase in business the company have experienced in the last few years also resulted in a need for the team to relocate to bigger premises and recruit additional staff. To accommodate this growth, the business recently relocated to a bigger unit at 12 Lindsay Square in Livingston.
Tom Reynolds, Director of Capital Power Clean Ltd. commented: "The demand for our products and services has really taken off in recent years so the support from West Lothian Council has been invaluable to help us scale up and invest in new equipment and IT Infrastructure. Our wide range of cleaning products and our focus on a personal customer service, has been key to us growing and developing the business."
Executive councillor for Economy, Community Empowerment and Wealth Building, Kirsteen Sullivan recently visited the Capital Power Clean Ltd. offices in Livingston to see how the funding has helped the business meet their aims.
Cllr Sullivan said: "It was great to meet Tom and the team and hear about the story of Capital Power Clean. This is a great local business success story and one I look forward to seeing continue to grow and create jobs for more local people.
