Over a hundred members of the popular Fauldhouse Young at Heart Club enjoyed a special Christmas meal at Fauldhouse Miners Welfare recently.

The group were one of the 69 organisations who successfully bid for funding from the council's Pensioner's Christmas Fund 2023/24.

A dedicated fund of £29,000 was shared between the groups, allowing them to provide a special Christmas meal, event or activity for nearly 4,700 pensioners across West Lothian.

Provost Cathy Muldoon was among those invited to join the Fauldhouse Young at Heart Club for their special event.

She said: "It was a real honour to attend Fauldhouse Young at Heart Club's annual Christmas dinner.

"Our pensioners contribute so much to our communities over their lifetimes, and it's wonderful to be able to give back to them in this way.

"Huge thanks for Maureen Howley and her team for all their work to organise such a superb event."

Fauldhouse Young at Heart Club provides local people aged 55 and over with an opportunity to socialise, make new friends, and get involved in social activities. They meet every Monday afternoon at Fauldhouse Miners Welfare.

Maureen Howley, secretary of Fauldhouse Young at Heart Club added: "Our members were delighted to receive the Pensioners Christmas Funding from West Lothian Council, which contributed to our very enjoyable and successful Christmas Party."
