Almond Valley Folk Club

West Lothian's own Folk Club has recently restarted live meetings after losing our accommodation during the pandemic, mainly running sessions just now, but we are planning some guest artists for 2024.

Almond Valley Folk Club meets on the 3rd Friday of each month, from 7pm to 9.30pm (doors open 6.45pm).

Venue

The Coffee Lounge, Strathbrock Community Centre, Broxburn, EH52 5LH

Please note that this is an alcohol-free zone; feel free to bring your own soft drinks, and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits mid-evening.

Use Entrance B at Strathbrock (if coming by car, park towards the further end of the car park) - through the double doors, turn right, up a few stairs, then through another set of double doors; the coffee lounge is then the first door on your right.

Annual Membership is £5, with normal monthly entrance fees of £2 (members), and £4 (non-members). We may well charge rather more if we have guest performers. Sorry - no unaccompanied minors.

As for what music we tend to hear, it's usually in the folk/acoustic genre, and ranges from very traditional to written that very morning!Although we may occasionally offer suggestions for themes for a session, these are always optional. Please feel free to bring along whatever you are most comfortable with - a song, some tunes, a poem or a story. If you would prefer just to listen, that is fine too.
