West Lothian community councils re-formed

West Lothian Council has approved proposals to alter the boundary of the current Carmondean & Deans Community Council and create two separate community councils.

A consultation was carried out after a petition was received from registered electors in Carmondean requesting the boundary changes, with all comments received included in the report for councillors.

A meeting of the full West Lothian Council voted unanimously to implement its decision by restoring the Carmondean and Deans areas to their former community council boundaries as they existed in 2021, prior to the formation of the combined Carmondean & Deans Community Council. 

This will restore the distinct community councils in the Carmondean and Deans areas.    Arrangements will be made for the election of members to the two community councils and details of the election will be published by the council on its website and social media channels.
