Access to museums improved
A new policy aims to make using West Lothian Council's Museums Service easier for local residents.
Council Executive have approved a first Access Policy for museums, to ensure that as many people as possible have access to collections, exhibitions and programmes.
A requirement of the UK Accreditation Scheme for Museums and Galleries, the policy aims to cover how people can see, use and reference the council's collections.

Leader of West Lothian Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: "I'm delighted to approve our first Museums Access Policy, which will help even more people to make use of the fascinating collections held by our Museums Service.
"The incredible insight into West Lothian's past in the information held by our museums has huge educational and cultural value.
"The wide-ranging policy covers both onsite and online access, and sets out standards that local residents can expect in areas such as Learning and Programme and Customer Care."
