West Lothian remembers
West Lothian fell silent at 11am on Friday 11 November to remember the fallen.
Representatives from the Armed Forces, The Royal British Legion Scotland Livingston Branch and West Lothian Council were joined by West Lothian Depute Lieutenant Reverend John Povey and West Lothian Provost Cathy Muldoon at a service of remembrance at West Lothian Civic Centre to commemorate Armistice Day.
The service was led by Provost Cathy Muldoon and included a reading of Binyon's Lines from Alan Hamilton, President of Royal British Legion Scotland Livingston Branch.
This was followed by renditions of the Last Post from Emma Greig on bugle and the Lament, played on bagpipes by Finlay Peden.
Following the two-minute silence at 11am, Emma Greig led the service through a performance of the Reveille which preceded the Kohima Epitaph which was read by Alan Hamilton.
The service came to a close following a reading of In Flanders Fields by Leader of West Lothian Council, Lawrence Fitzpatrick.
Standard Bearers John Thompson and Sandy Henderson had their King's Colour Branch Standard on display at the War Memorial throughout the service.
Provost Cathy Muldoon said: "Armistice Day gives us a time to reflect and be thankful of those who have gone before us and remember their service to the country. I would like to thank everyone who participated in today's service."
