From 1 June 2024 Garden Waste collection will become a chargeable service and will require a permit to be displayed on your Brown Bin. Food waste can still be disposed of in the Brown Bin free of charge.

Garden Waste permits cost £50 per year and are valid from 1 June through to 31 May. The easiest way to get your garden waste permit is to pay online.
Tenants with a council rent account can choose to pay alongside their rent. This option will allow for the entire £50 charge to be paid across the remainder of the permit year, i.e. until 31 May.
West Lothian Council will cross-check the information you provide against your rent account to ensure you are not in arrears and that the details match those provided on the form.
