The special ceremony will take place at West Lothian Civic Centre from 12.40pm on Sunday 11 September, and is open to anyone in West Lothian to attend.

Lord-Lieutenant Moira Niven MBE and Provost Cathy Muldoon will be among the invited guests at the event, which will include Chief Executive Graham Hope reading the official Proclamation marking the passing of Her Majesty.

Those attending can also place flowers and other tributes at the war memorial, and sign the official book of condolence in the reception of the Civic Centre afterwards if they wish.

Provost Cathy Muldoon said: "I know many people in West Lothian will want to pay their own tributes to Her Majesty.

"Everyone is welcome to attend the Proclamation ceremony at the Civic Centre on Sunday 11 September.

"We all know the depth of feeling and huge respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in West Lothian, so I look forward to seeing people come together in her honour."
