Proposal to Relocate Hopefield Nursery School
West Lothian Council Education Executive agreed the proposal on 17 January 2023.
Proposal
West Lothian Council agreed, on 6 September 2022, to undertake formal consultation on the proposal to relocate Hopefield Nursery School to Blackburn Primary School.
Statutory Consultation
In terms of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act), any proposed changes to a school estate in this case relocation of an education establishment, requires Statutory Public Consultation.
The Consultation involves the parents/carers/children and staff of Hopefield Nursery School, Blackburn Primary School, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School as well as all other key stakeholders associated with the nursery and statutory consultees as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Act.

Consultation Period
The Consultation period has now closed. This timescale adheres to the statutory consultation period for such circumstances which is a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and include at least 30 school days.
