West Lothian Asymptomatic Testing Sites on the move
All three West Lothian sites offering asymptomatic testing are moving to new locations.
The sites provide free testing for Covid-19 for anyone who does not have symptoms. Not everyone who has Covid-19 develops symptoms, so getting tested and taking appropriate action if the test is positive can help prevent the virus from spreading. Testing kits can also be picked up for free from most pharmacies.
Anyone wishing to get tested can go along to these sites without an appointment, 7 days per week between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
West Lothian Council currently operates two Asymptomatic Testing Sites (ATS).
The ATS currently at Whitdale Primary School in Whitburn will close on Sunday 18 July at 4.30pm, and re-open in Bathgate Partnership Centre on Tuesday 20 July at 9.30am.
The ATS at the Dave King Partnership Centre in East Calder will close on Monday 19 July at 4.30pm, and re-open in West Calder Community Centre on Wednesday 21 July at 9.30am
The Scottish Ambulance Service also operate a Mobile Testing Unit that provides asymptomatic testing. This unit is currently at Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn, will close on Sunday 18 June at 4.30pm, and re-open at Fauldhouse Partnership Centre on Monday 19 July at 9.30am.
A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "We would encourage everyone to get tested as an important method of reducing the spread of Covid-19 in West Lothian.
"The locations for the ATS sites move on a regular basis to ensure as many local residents as possible have the chance to access testing near them."
