RECYCLING CENTRE SITE RULES/ TERMS & CONDITIONS- AUGUST 2020
By entering a West Lothian Council Recycling Centre, you agree to the following:
1. All waste brought to West Lothian's Recycling Centres must be waste generated by your own household activities. Commercial customers and charities will not be granted access to dispose of general waste, even with a booking. Frequent users will be monitored for fair use and waste crime.
2. No toxic, hazardous or dangerous waste likely to cause damage to containers or endanger staff or any other person will be brought to a Recycling Centre. Only the items/materials listed will be accepted.
3. Items/materials that have been deposited at these sites cannot be removed from containers.
4. Follow signage on site. Place waste items/ materials in the correct containers.
5. Any instruction given by site operatives, particularly in relation to the health and safety of other site users, must be followed.
6. Verbal or physical abuse or threats of violence towards staff or other members of the public will not be tolerated in any format. West Lothian Council will report all incidents to the Police or others as appropriate. Instances of abuse in person or electronically can result in being banned from using the Recycling Centres for an unlimited period of time.
7. Pedestrian access is not permitted.
8. Vans or trailers without a valid booking will not be granted access. Evidence of booking must be shown prior to entry, if requested. Only the vehicle with the registration under which the booking was made will be permitted entry. Photo ID and either a driving license or council tax bill, for proof of address, must be displayed on the dashboard or entry will be refused.
9. Adhere to traffic management on site and guidance from staff. On site you will be given a designated bay. Stay in your vehicle until you have been allocated a parking bay. Do not access adjacent bays.
10. Follow social distancing signage on site to protect staff and other visitors. Please do not hand any items directly to our employees, they cannot provide you with physical assistance to unload or dispose of your waste. Keep your distance and a minimum of 2m/6ft apart.
11. West Lothian Council reserves the right to refuse access to the Recycling Centres to users that are believed to be disposing of commercial waste.
