Update on School Meal Provision
Dear Parent or Guardian
West Lothian Council continues to make available a daily school meal for all P1 to P3 children, and at the same time are providing a daily meal for children from P4 to S6 who are entitled to Free School Meals during the 2019/20 academic year.
You can find details of where to collect the meal by following the link below:
The council recognises the financial pressure on households due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) therefore, in addition to the availability of school meals, the council will make an award of £10 per child, per week to support parents or guardians with the purchase of food.
Parents or guardians will qualify for this additional financial support if they received a clothing grant and free school meals for their child/children during the 2019/20 academic year, or if your child is in S5 or S6 and in receipt of free school meals. Our records confirm that you meet the criteria and will therefore receive the additional financial support.
Payments will be made in fortnightly instalments starting on Thursday 7 May with the remaining payments being made on 22 May, 5 June, and 19 June.
They will be paid into the bank account you told us about when you applied for a clothing grant in 2019/20.
Please email EducationBenefits@westlothian.gov.uk if you have any queries regarding this payment.
We know this is a difficult and stressful time for many households.
