Whitburn and Blackburn communities to receive town centre fund boost
Over £310,000 is set to be shared among the communities of the Whitburn and Blackburn ward from the Town Centre Fund.
This fund offers significant additional capital funding to improve West Lothian's communities. Those with populations with over 1,000 residents were eligible for funding. Within the Whitburn & Blackburn ward this meant five towns were eligible and 24 applications for funding were received, almost all from community organisations.
Some of the projects awarded funding includes funding towards the Whitburn Community Garden Initiative and money for a mining statue and restoration of the Heritage Walkway in Blackburn.
Other projects to receive funding include play park improvements in Seafield, the upgrade of the junior football park in Greenrigg and towards an inclusive play area in East Whitburn.
