What is Neighbourhood Watch?
Neighbourhood Watch is aimed at keeping your local community safe. The Neighbourhood Alert Scheme promotes - "Getting the right information to the right people at the right time"
What does it do?
Residents can now receive relevant alerts, newsletters, information and advice on various aspects of safety direct, via email, from Community Safety Unit partners.
By linking in with your neighbours, you can help your local community remain a safe place to live.
Do I live in a Neighbourhood Watch area?
- First of all, check to see if there is a Neighbourhood Watch in your area already. There may be a scheme that covers your house, or one nearby that you could join up with.
- Look up www.neighbourhoodwatchscotland.co.uk (opens new window)
- Use the Scheme Finder tool (opens new window) to see what's in your area. It shows you Neighbourhood Watch areas already established and in operation 1,2,5,and 10 miles from your postcode. You can also contact the co-coordinator of existing schemes or apply to join them.
I don't live in a Neighbourhood Watch area
If there's no Neighbourhood Watch near you, you might consider starting your own. There are details on the web page to tell you how to go about it.
