About Our Schools Key Worker Service
Community Learning and Development (CLD) Youth Services provide targeted support to young people through our Schools Key Worker Service. Working in partnership with secondary schools, we support young people to overcome barriers, improve engagement and attainment, and progress towards positive destinations.
Schools Key Workers provide personalised one-to-one support for young people who may benefit from additional guidance and encouragement. Through building positive relationships, they help young people develop confidence, identify strengths, access opportunities and plan their next steps in education, training, employment or other positive pathways.
Schools Key Worker Team
Each secondary school in West Lothian has an allocated Schools Key Worker who provides targeted support within the school community. Schools Key Workers work alongside young people, school staff and partner services to support engagement, attainment and positive outcomes.
Our Senior Community Education Workers coordinate our service delivery across learning communities and schools. Below you will find the relevant contact for your school, who can provide further information about the support available.
Accessing Support
Young people can access the Schools Key Worker Service through their secondary school. If a young person would benefit from additional support, school staff can discuss this with them and arrange for them to be linked with their allocated Schools Key Worker.
