Youth Work In Schools
We work in partnership to provide programmes of support to secondary and special schools in West Lothian which are responsive to the needs of young people, identified by schools.
Youth Work In Schools
Helping young people in secondary schools to develop the skills for life learning and work; some examples of the support we provide are:
- Pupil Representative Training for Pupil/House Councils.
- The Democracy Challenge.
- PSE Inputs on dealing with stress.
- PSE Inputs on bullying.
- 6-8 week group work programmes supporting young people to develop their self- esteem/confidence and resilience.
- Street Hero, a week long programme, for pupils in S3 and above, looking at personal safety, the law, street first aid, drug and alcohol use, sexual health and avoiding risky situations.
- Soft skills development to support wider employability programmes. Dynamic Youth Awards, these awards are externally moderated by ASDAN and are SCQF levelled. Where it is appropriate, we offer them in conjunction with group work programmes we are carrying out.
- Healthy Respect Drop Ins
