Development Management Committee

The Development Management Committee is a formal committee of the council that decides on planning applications that are referred to it.

If you have made a local application, the council's scheme of delegation sets out the circumstances in which your application might be referred to the Development Management Committee. The committee meets every four weeks, normally on a Wednesday. You can access committee information, including committee membership and a calendar of meetings, here. (opens new window)

If your application is referred to the Development Management Committee, you will be notified in writing a week before the committee date, as will all those who have lodged an objection to the application. The applicant, agent and anyone who has submitted a material representation are all given the opportunity to speak for up to five minutes. Members of the committee might ask you questions, for clarification purposes, after you have spoken.

The agenda and papers are available in the week before the committee meeting. Minutes will be available three weeks after the meeting, from committee services (opens new window). If you have any queries about the committee please contact the case officer for your application.
