Attendance, Behaviour and Bullying
Children and young people benefit most from their education when they attend school regularly. Children and young people are expected to follow their School Behaviour Code. In extreme cases, children and young people may be excluded from school.
Further information on the Council's policies on attendance and exclusion can be found in "Downloads". For further information on each school's behaviour code, please contact the individual school or consult the school's handbook.
Bullying
West Lothian Council promotes a culture where bullying behaviour is not acceptable. The Council is committed to establishing a caring, learning community where all members are valued and everyone has a responsibility to promote respect, openness, honesty and understanding. If you are concerned that your child may be being bullied you should contact your child's school. All schools in West Lothian follow the Promoting Positive Relationships [453KB] .
respectme is Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service, their website respectme.org.uk (opens new window) contains useful advice and guidance for parents and carers.
